This is the important part. Below is a brief overview of the process that ensures the happy couples expectations, as well as all legal requirements, are met prior to the big day.

  • Lets talk

Initial contact is made followed by a no obligation face-to-face meeting at a convenient location.

This service is available to distant clients or clients with timing issues via Skype or FaceTime. This provides clients with a good opportunity to determine whether I am the suited celebrant.

Due to the legal time-frame surrounding a marriage commitment, I recommend meeting with clients a minimum 2-3 months prior to the their big day, however the  minimum legal requirement is 30 days prior to the wedding.

  • "Kate, will you marry us?"

Once you have decided that I am the right Celebrant for you, we will complete the paperwork.

According to Australian law, a Notice Of Intended Marriage must be completed no later than 30 days prior to the Wedding date. A number of original documents must also be witnessed including specific identification documents and birth certificates.

  • Let me get to work

Now it is time to discuss you and your day. I love this bit!

Clients can provide readings and or any script already prepared. Where a couple requires solutions for content and the format of their ceremony, I can create an initial draft for consideration, or provide some great examples of different style ceremonies, vows, readings etc.

With your permission, I love to speak o family & friends, those closest to you, to get different perspectives on your relationship, and what people love about you as a couple. It's an awesome way to make your ceremony personal, and a lovely surprise for you, when you get to hear what your loved ones think.

A ceremony may be as long or as short as desired, however, it must include minimum legal requirements, which I will take you through. Most ceremonies are around 12-18minutes long.

The ceremony detail, including readings, music and rituals is reviewed and finalised at least 2 weeks before your wedding. You've got loads to think about before then, so lets get this done and off your list.

  • Run through time

This is the perfect time to test your script and others involved practicing their readings and involvement in the ceremony.  Any last minute changes, if any, can also be made.

A copy of the ceremony including readings and prompts for music will be provided for those involved on the day.

Whilst it's a busy time for you, leading up the the wedding, the 30minutes invested in meeting on site, walking the space, and discussion the small details, will take a weight off your mind on the day. It can also be a lot of fun, particularly if your bridal party can join us. At this point, we'll sign one last legal form too.

  • No more sleeps!

On this day, you'll will be focused on the most important thing- each other!

I cannot wait to make it a day to remember!
